ATI mobility Radeon 9000/9100 series is stock graphics on my HP Pavillion
laptop, and I haven't encountered any problems with Sonar either. The one
problem I notice, and it may not be the graphics, is in silencing speech
with the control key. Its taken as long as 15 seconds and more to shut jaws
up at times.

Hey I use a Dell latitude d810 with the ATI Mobility Radian x600 and have used it with sib sonar and all that no problem. Graphics haven't been a problem and neither has the chip set... How I get so lucky!

When consulting with Dancing Dots I was told that my spare Dell Latitude laptop (with XP Pro) would not work well with Sibelius because of the graphics incompatibility.
They were right (thanks, Gord).
Fortunately this is not my personal laptop but one from work. However I note
that JAWS works just fine, versions 5.0 through 7.1 beta.
I'm using Sibelius 3 with Sib Speaking 3.10 and JAWS 6.0, with resolution 1024x768 and 16 million colors, as specified. However The keypad will not stay to the right and the graphics labeling is abysmal. Fortunately not my main machine, just one I'm using for school/work.
What should I be aware of when I *do* purchase a new computer vis-a-vis the
video adapter/drivers/chipsets?
Do I avoid Dell at all costs?
Is this posted somewhere and if so, where? I'd expect to see a list of the incompatible drivers/video.
