Thanks folks!
I was sortof afraid I was gonna get a lot of flames from my post, and,
while I do like to stir up a bit of argument sometimes, I really
didn't mean to.
I will definitely look at those options for taking a look at music
electronically.


Shawn, thanks for the vote of confidence in playing by ear.

It's funny, just yesterday I went over to the web site of the NLS and
looked in their music library for "fake books." I found one which
reports to have hundreds of songs, and it's only 29 volumes. I almost
just stopped looking.
In my mind, the most compelling reason to read music is to sight-read,
and since I know I can't do that, and since my auditory memory is so
much more developed than what ever memory is used when reading with my
fingers, it seems crazy to have 29 volumes of anything which
ultimately I'd have to sit down and study before EVER getting to play
a note. I don't like to study.

This is why I really was attracted to the idea of Lime Aloud because
you can listen, and read at the same time if you so wish.
