Hi. At the risk of sounding like I'm advertising, I work for a company that deal with helping customer setting up their own internet business side of things. They don't come cheap, but everything is fully accessible, even their site builder. I work on the tech support team and I deal with any access issues. Contact me off list if you want a link to their info pages. The system also comes with the mail out functionality already built in, along with form set ups, automatic search engine submission etc. All my sites are hosted with them because I simply don't have time to learn all the techie stuff. Being a web designer myself, from the various types of sites I've designed and/or worked with, I can recommend hostgator. Your site should run fine on there for the kinds of things you want to do; other hosts are either slow or have horrible turn around times or use an inaccessible controll panel. Godaddy is one of them... Their controll panel is a pain to use... Host gator uses CPanel and is verry accessible, though it's basically as Daron said, they expect you to handle it all. They have wizards and templates and stuff, but the backend work is left up to you. 1and1.com is also ok for controll panel/management, but they're too slow. Hostgator offers a variety of tools and are great at responding to issues and fixing/upgrading things on customer's request; I've been working with them on a site over the last few months and it's great! Regarding CMS's like droopal or joomla, you don't only have to worry about accessibility, but also on how to use the cms and how to get things done. They're not the best thing when it comes to accessibility either! Another thing is that the site itself has to be optimized to run with those system, due to their nature they sometimes run a bit slow depending on how you've configured it and how many articles you have etc. You have to evaluate if your site could benefit from such a thing or not. All the kind of stuff you're trying to do can be done and automated with a system. Of course money is an issue, but depending on who you use and what you're doing, it shouldn't be that much. I know that there are many of you on this list that are website owners. Which is the best hosting service for accessibility? My web designer recommended Go Daddy. Has anyone tried it? He also recommended joomla for my web content management system. Has anyone used Joommla? If so how was it? I read a notice on there website stating that they will try to be as accessibility compliant as possible, but they said that they will not be completely accessible on the back end as of yet. If any of you have tried joomla, what are some of the things that you can and can't do with jaws? May the peace of God which passes all understanding guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
