If doing backups for yourself, if you built your own system, one thing we're
taking advantage of for our custormers is when we build their systems, if
they use select Gigabyte motherboards, we leave about 10-15gb free on the
hdd, and after the OS is configured and adjusted properly we use the
motherboards built in restore feature where it basicly saves an image of the
hard drive at that sate for the customer. We customize it according to the
customer's needs, either with the OS and all fixes/tweaks applied, or if
they provide us with the software they'll be using we put all that on there
and image it then. If something goes wrong they just have to restore from
the hdd; we also keep a copy of that image on one of our master systems, so
if the customer's hdd goes completely bad we can just restore it for them on
a new hdd... This restore software is very streight forward and can be used
with minimal hassle; another option that's free if you got such
motherboard...

Are you doing a full recovery from a non-functioning PC? Or trying to
restore one or more files from an image?

I'll need to try it out myself when I get home.

One thumb up. The restore portion is not accessible, no matter what I
try. Got any secrets about this?
