Hi,

For many years, I've been using the Lame command line tool for encoding .wav files as MP3. Lame, at least the version I've been using, loves to name its output files somefile.wav.mp3, assuming an input of somefile.wav. Under 98SE, I've been able to fix this with a "ren *.wav.mp3 *.mp3" at the end of my batch file, but not under XP. Apparently, the ren command thinks *.mp3 means leave the .wav in .wav.mp3, thus accomplishing absolutely nothing. Does anyone have any tips on dealing with this? Thanks.
