[ddots-l] Questions about Step Recording

Hi, Everyone.
I tried step recording a two bar pattern of eighth notes, and it went fairly
well. I left everything at default in the dialog.
How do I incorporate a step recording in to a MIDI project where the MIDI is
imported from another file? Does this involve quantizing the step recorded
track? Does quantizing happen while step record is happening, or do I need
to do it afterward? Are there any step record dos and don'ts that you can
share that aren't discussed in the lesson from the manual?
