lol. i just tried that to see what would happen. it made the entire song sound 
like it was being played in someone's shower.

  In sound forge, the channel converter has an option, stereo to stereo-remove 
center material or something like that, it some times does the trick, depends 
on the song and how it was recorded and exactly how much you are trying to get 
out of it.
  I play around with different things from filters to band pass to removing 
channels etc to get something usable...
