Hi Omar!

Havent done this in a weil, but i will be looking for a good line mixer,
with out any pre amp, less noise, You can than pan the drums as you want
and if you run into problems with not enough signal. put line drivers on the
output of the mixer. I dont think you need the line drivers if you normally
has hi input on your card.

I am paying a little more for my stuff and use a local music stor. Here i
can borrow things and test them, before buying.

Good luck!

Dennis

yes I do have an adat port. Do you have any recommendations for having 6
preamp inputs in one unit? Outside of having a mixer, I'm not familiar with
something like this. What kind of unit am I looking for?

Thanks.

Phil,

Do you mean I can get some external preamps without a mixer? I would need
around 6 of them.

If you have an ADAT port on the fireface then, you could use some pree-amps
with an ADAT port instead.

Hello,

I'm going to be recording live instruments soon, and it's the first time
I've done this. I'm using the RME fireface 800, and it has only 2 mic
inputs. I'll be recording live drums, and I'll need about 6 mics for those.
If the fireface has only 2 mic inputs, what's the best solution to record
all the drums at the same time? Would i need to use a mixer for the extra
mic inputs, or is there another alternative?

Thanks.
