I usually check the first button in the row. If you select loopback1, 2
should also become checked. If it doesn't, check the first button on that
row as well. Be sure everything else is unchecked, just to be sure, then
give it a try.

Subject: [ddots-l] Saffire Pro14 Loopback to Sound Forge 10 Pro

OK, the fun continues.

I've managed to get the Saffire Pro14 loop back working, but my resulting
recordings are in mono. *LOL* This doesn't matter so much given that I am
recording some things from Youtube. But some other weirdness is occuring.

What I've done so far is:
1. Selected Loop Back routing preset in Saffire Mix Control. Oddly, this
immediately mutes the material being looped from coming out my monitors.

2. Selected Saffire, Recording Tab, and made sure Loop Back is checked.
Oddly, the scroll down button also can be checked/unchecked.

3. What I'm failing to understand is why there are four checkable items per
line in SF 10's routing options. I'm seeing two lines marked Loopback 1 and
2 respectively, but four items per line that can be either a bullet or a
"quartercircle", as Jaws reports them.
Are these outputs? Channels? Do I need the first two checked in each line,
or should I check the first two say, in line 1, and the third and fourth in
the second line?

and when recording in Sound Forge, F9 and F10 to read the meters are
reporting "inf" as in, no audio present. But, when I end recording and go
into playback, the material is definitely there, registers on the meters
etc.

As usual, I'm probably missing some very obvious bits in both Saffire Mix
Control and Sound Forge to get this working. I'd like things to be stereo,
and I'd like to hear what is being recorded.

Thankfully, my default setup is saved to the hardware itself, so
ALT+F then L gets me back to my regular setup for
tracking/mixing/mastering.
