Hello steve, The reason I mentioned the sp200
was about 4 years ago, my boss, where I work perchased one for the piano-bar.
It replaced the old Yamaha standard
acoustic piano that had been there for years.
It was perchased because of its size.
Whith the key cover closed on the old piano the sp200 sat on there perfectly.
I play there 4 nights a week and I didn't like it much.
However, I did like the idea of switching from the old acoustic to the
digital.
I got tired of tuning it once a month and it was starting to show its age.
I started looking around for something better.
The key was to find the size that would fit on the old piano.
I was in luck and found the Yamaha p90.
Great actiontouch, wonderful piano voices and easy to use.
Same size as the sp200.
I got a added feature I didn't expect.
All the midi and outputs jacks are on the left side of the unit, not on the
back.
Real nice when sitting on the old piano.
I like it so much, I own 3 of them.
One for work, one in my studio and one in the case for side jobs that i do.
I also like the fact that I can split the keyboard for 2 voices.
For example, piano in the right and bass guitar in the left.
Yamaha has replaced the p90 with the CP33.
I have read it is about the same electroniclly as the p90 but it has 4 more
voices and has its own speakers.
Of course, it is bigger.
