Hi David,

There's a few problems you may find when trying to teach more than one student online, I'd personally keep to one on one.

Your quality of audio needs to be as clear as possible so best to use either a sound card that allows you to have a piano and a microphone plugged in to it at the same time or a little mixer going into your sound card. Always use headphones as that will not only help you hear the student more clearly, (the chances are your student is going to be using his laptop's microphone and laptop speakers) and that could possibly be awkward for you to hear. You will need to test the level of your piano against your microphone as pianos can sound quiet in your headphone but maybe distorting on the students laptop.

I'm not sure whether you are aware of GW Skype? GW Skype is especially designed for visually impaired people and it's free.

a quick example of my set up when using Skype:
1: Piano and Microphone are plugged into my Hardware Mixer,
2: The Hardware Mixer master outs are plugged into the inputs on the sound card, 3: the sound card master outs are plugged into the monitors. The monitors have a headphone socket. I used headphones which mutes the monitors, ( I don't want the audio from the speakers going through my microphone and back down the Skype line)

I'd try Skype's test call option to check the balance between microphone and piano.

The very best
Steve W.
