This is the first time I've heard one of your songs, Phil. Very, very, very nice! If you're okay with it, I'd love to cover this. I'll send you all my leadsheets in Lime format, if you want? Again, what a great sing-able song! and a masterful job in sequencing, as well!

I find the best music on this list! Applause to you all!

Very nice job!

Very smooth production, had a very 70's flavour to me, especially the b/vox,
beautifully executed by your missus!
They must've taken some time...

Phil replied: the BV's were a conbination of Sarah and my good self. Sarah
sang the top parts in the 3 part harmony, sarah also did the top BV in the
overtaken mid section and the rest was, me. Actually the vocals didn't take
that long really. Think we did the bulk of that in a morning.

Mike wrote: The only slightly disappointing thing, to me at least, was the
lead vocal, a tad unconvincing methinks...
But, hey, that was nothing to do with you!

Phil replied: Am happy with Gordon's vocal however,I always enjoy hearing
someone elses oppinion.

Mike wrote: Aside from that, I say well done that man!

Phil replied: thanks!

Hi all!

If you go to:

http://www.philmuir.com/

And locate the flash player (you can quickly do that with Jaws by
pressing the letter F twice quickly to locate the play button) then,
you can listen to a track called "Overtaken By Love." It's the first
song in the playlist.
The song was written and sung by a friend of mine, Gordon clowrey. I
played/arranged all of the instruments and did all of the drum
programming, mixing mastering etc. The BV's were sung by myself and
my wife, Sarah. Sarah came up with some of the really cool vocal
arrangements for this particular tune and as usual, gave an honest
critic of the mix.
That's the cool thing about Sarah, she has great ears and really does
know what's required and what should be left out. This was all
tracked in Sonar.
All of the BV's, mixing and mastering was done in Windows 7
Professional in
SonarX64 with Superior Drummer 2.2.1 64bit, on a couple of PC's, both
of which are core 2 duo. The fastest one is only 2.13GHZ and this one
which is my laptop is 1.6GHZ. Just shows you what can be achieved on
two fairly lolly systems, at least by today's standards. BTW, the
snare that I used is the NirZ custom however, I used the centre hits,
rather than the side ones as the side hits, would have been a bit too
ringy for the tune. Enjoy!
