Correct about Mackie protocol. From what I here the fader port is a good
option for use in Pro Tools and it's cheaper than Avid stuff.

If I am not mistaken, protools does not support the Mackie protocol.
Protools supports Hui and another proprietary protocol, which is used
by the avid stuff. The x-touch has a hui mode, but I heard it is
limited.
A quick google search will hopefully yield more helpful answers.

Quick question. Using a Mac Book Pro with Flow/ProTools.
If a surface controller is needed. Is the one made by Avid for ProTools
the
way to go? Accessible?
Or is the Berringer X-Touch a better choice for a Mac using Flow/ProTools.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
