The older version was powered by UVI Workstation, which also is an instrument
where I need sighted help to load sounds. The new version is powered by a
player that Gospel Musicians created from the ground up. Both of them are
powered by Juce, which is a framework that from what I understand, isn't
exactly fully accessible to screenreaders like JAWS. Neither version would be
stable unless I've saved presets of my favorite instruments. I did that before
in the old version, and now I want to try it in the new version. $49.00 was an
offer too good to refuse, especially since it was a crossgrade! And the new
sounds that were added to the new version are ones I'd like to experiment with.

FM Tines 2.0 is a 64-bit VST.

What type of plugin is it, 32 or 64 bits?

I can make a session with instruments like StylusRMX, Trilian, Aria Sforzando,
Garritan Jazz And Big Band, and Eastwest Play, then the moment I insert FM
Tines, any sounds made by the other instruments disappears, and I can't hear
anything. I try to manipulate the JAWS cursor, and that's when Sonar completely
freezes!

Do you have other soft synths instruments that you’re using with the new
plug-in that you mentioned? I have a pretty high-quality drum pack for session
drummer three that I use that can be a little bit of a memory hog. Hope you get
it figured out.

Trouble Is, it's happening despite the fact that I am actually using the 64-bit
version of Sonar. Isn't that crazy?

Annabelle,
If you are like me and your DAW only has 16 gig of memory in it, you may run
out of memory depending on the quality of the soft synth that you’re loading
and what other instruments and affects you have going at that time. I have a 64
bit machine but started out using the 32-bit version of sonar. After some time,
I started experiencing dropouts and a lot of sluggish behavior. I have only
been using the 64-bit version ever cents. That works much better.
Hope this helps.

Hi, it's Annabelle.
I purchased FM Tines 2.0 (http://fmtines.com) back in February of this year,
and there seems to be a problem. I opened it up as a VST within Sonar, and when
I tried to load a sound, the screen went white and my machine froze! Next, I
started a new session by loading an instrument like Stylus RMX, and that works.
But the moment I load FM Tines 2.0, it immediately cancels out any sound
signals from other instruments. I uninstalled the whole program and then
reinstalled again, but the same result comes up. when I try to load patches, I
hear no sound, whether I have the output in Sonar's bus pane set to my monitors
or my headphones. Even worse, my machine sometimes likes to freeze! Then I have
to totally restart the computer when Sonar stops responding. What's up with
that, I wonder? What do I do next? Is it possible that this new version of FM
Tines has a compatibility issue with Sonar 8.5 Producer Edition 64 Bit, since
that's an older version of Sonar? I'm a bit confused on that one! As far as I
know, Jamal, the guy who makes FM Tines at http://www.gospelmusicians.com, says ;
that this new version is compatible with all 64-bit DAW's.
