My first question would be:Have you thoroughly explored the Sonitus EQ that comes with Sonar, including the four bands of EQ available through the inspector? Do you understand the types of filters available, frequency, Q, etc. and how adjusting the parameters affects the sound?
Yes Waves and other companies make EQ plug-ins, but we already have access to a great one.
Actually, you also have the linear-phase EQ as well, if you have Sonar Producer, if you are looking for something for mastering.
The various Waves plug-ins are accessible in that their parameters are shown in the inspector. You won't be able to load presets that come with the plug-ins, but you can certainly save your own.
Like I said though, we already have a great EQ that is accessible. Learning to adjust an EQ to get the results you are after is much more important than having access to several different EQ plug-ins that all do the same basic thing.
