Well, this is very common, the way your friend recorded gives to much noise. Guitar Rig gives some of this background noise also!It's possible to eliminate some of that noise, usually I use Sound Forge, the noise reduction feature.
If you have a audio recording that comes with that noise, the thing is that all that you put on top of it will increase it! So, you must first try to clean it at the best! If, you must use this recording, try listen how the guitar sounds withless Guitar Rig mix parameter, reduce some highier frequencys. If you wanna try a bit diferently, put some guitar chorus and, well, some delay, instead of reverb, well, just a bit, why not.
