Hi Bill. Thanks for stepping up to the plate! It's appreciated! I have placed some comments within your message.

Bill wrote: Snip, Anyone who is in this business will tell you that it's not a good policy to discuss features under development for a number of reasons. For one thing, sometimes development for a particular feature fails. It would not be fair or prudent to promise something that we ultimately could not deliver.

Phil replied: as someone who is involved in beta testing software, I understand that. However, I am not going to let you off the hook that easily, smile. Why couldn't a release of CakeTalking been put out earlier that would have included support for some of Sonar 8's new plug-ins? Clearly there wasn't an issue with getting accessibility going in them as I have been able to do that with HotSpotClicker and we don't need to wait for a new updated 300 page CT tutorial document to use them. A basic update of the jaws help from within Cake Talking would suffice.

Also, the UI hasn't altered that much in Sonar 8.3.1. You would have been able to put out a release that supported that Sonar update, fairly quickly. You could have then spent the rest of the last 6 months, working on other new features and updating your Cake Talking tutorials.

Bill wrote; That being said, I am seriously
considering the option of offering prerelease test builds for future releases of CakeTalking to customers who understand the potential risks of using something that has not been fully tested yet.

Phil replied: that sounds sensible and would result in you being able to run a faster beta cycle as more people running the software equals more bugs found. Also, more of your customer bass and trainers such as myself would be kept happy as they would have access to features such as new plug-ins earlier without having to install HotSpotClicker as not all of your user bass, will want to install HotSpotClicker anyway.

Bill wrote: OK, as the saying goes, watch this space for more details soon. And let me
be the first to wish you a very merry Christmas!

Phil replied: watching this space, and a very happy Christmas to you too!

Regards, Phil Muir
