Phil replied: there has been an issue with the plug-in manager Window being
obscured by the Sonar application Window. I think this got broken back in
Sonar 6. It would be great if Cakewalk would fix this issue. They are aware
of it. In the mean time, I guess any scripting package could be set-up to push
the Sonar application Window out of the way and give the plug-in Manager focus.
I also seem to remember that if you select it from the tools menu twice then,
you will gain focus.

Yes i know, but when trying to organize the plugs and make menu layouts the
vst's never show up unlesss I open the plugin manager in sonar itself... maybe
it's just my system, who knows...It use to work externally when I used sonar 3
through sonar 5...

You scan vst's under options, global settings and the VST plug-ins tab. You
then add the folder where the plug in resides you want to scan and hit the scan
button.

I've tried that before, but I find that in sonar 8 you can't scan vst
plugs when using the application externally.

Mike, since it's an external utility, you will have better luck accessing
it outside of Sonar rather than inside. Some of the buttons aren't labeled, but
most things will read just fine with Jaws. Inside the cakewalk folder, go to
share utilities. In there, is the plug-in manager.chm file and the plug-in
manager executable.

        Hey list!

Duzz anyone know how to use the plug-in manager in Sonar 8?

I can't find any info anywhere...

If I try to utilize the quote help quote button when actually in the
plug-in manager, the linx don't work?

Any assist would be greatly appreciated!

        fanx

        Mike
