That's confirmed, they just need to fix a few things such as the system tray, selections in list views, getting text automatically spoken in certain windows etc, and of course support for the new improved calculator as well as any programs that they add or change. This is from my experience with the release candidate and latest jaws version. However, some things that work now might be broken by release time or some things that don't work now might get fixed by ms or fs by October 22. But in terms of accessibility and system stability/speed, windows 7 promises to be what vista wasn't, great! Not saying that as soon as it comes out xp will disappear for daws or for business use, but the transition is now looking more likely than it was with Vista... Although, I'm not outside the USA, I like to keep up with these developments. I can't wait to see if Windows 7 will redeem Vista the way X.P. redeemed M.E. Windows Vista, aka "mojave" "longhorn" et al., has a long and checkered past and I have been lucky enough to be able to wait it out and jump the gulf from X.P. directly to 7. I hope the wait hasn't been needless; if 7 bites the dust, I may have to just go back to Amiga Workbench and Fred Fish. (Just kidding, but I may go Linux!) -Andy ----- Original Message ----- From: Phil Muir <mailto:info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: MIDIMag <mailto:midimag@xxxxxxxxxxx> ; Dancing Dots <mailto:ddots-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> E-mail List ; Free Sonar Scripts <mailto:jsonar@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, June 26, 2009 4:30 PM Subject: [ddots-l] Windows 7 Pricing Worth a read: http://www.reuters.com/article/technologyNews/idUSTRE55O2YT20090625?sp=true And it looks like Microsoft are having a bit of a spat with European regulators which could result in us not being able to purchase a Windows upgrade or, we could end up with a version of Windows in Europe that ships without Internet Explorer. If you live in Europe then, you will want to read this one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8118749.stm Hmm, I wonder how much the OEM version will cost?
