Hey guys, I still have this great (brand new) mixer up for sale. I purchased it
back in March of this year to use with my live sound and DJ gigs but it looks
like I won't be needing it for a while, so it's looking for a new home.
I will provide the buyer with a written layout of the mixer, and will provide
setup assistance at no extra cost. If you are a braille reader and would want
certain parts labeled on the unit itself, I'm willing to do all the work for a
small fee (to cover the cost of materials)
Though this is a digital mixer, it has an analog feel with sliders, knobs and
push buttons/switches; it is very nice and easy to use if you have low or no
vision, as it follows a very simple and logical layout.
Unfortunately I don't have the product's original packaging, since I purchased
this right when the COVID19 stuff exploded, so we had gotten rid of the box
after unpacking and testing the mixer. However, I do have the original
accessories, which are power cable, manual and rack ears. I will also include a
compatible USB2.0 cable so you can connect to your computer. I can also install
the rack ears before shipping the unit if the buyer so desires. The mixer is in
perfect condition, never used or gigged, has been stored in the protected
carrying case since it was purchased. It will be ship in excellent protective
material and quality box.
While you can purchase the mixer by itself, I also have a Gator Hard Shell
mixer case that is also for sale. Ideally I'd like to sell them both together,
but if you need one or the other, let me know.
I've included a description and more info about the mixer below, but if you
have questions or need further explanations, please do not hesitate to contact
me off list at DJX@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:DJX@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
Back in March this mixer was going for $560, now it goes for $525, I'm asking
$490. This price includes the extra compatible 10 foot USB cable (which is not
originally included with the mixer) and a complete write-up description of the
unit.
I'm asking $300 for the case, which is also brand new. The case is a gator
mixer case, it has a carrying latch, and 2 additional latches on the sides for
better grip. The case is lockable and comes with a set of keys. Inside you can
fit the mixer and cables with room to spare. I built a contraption that holds
the mixer suspended so that you have more storage room and the mixer is better
protected; I'll include it at no extra cost if the buyer wants it. The case can
also be used for rack gear, small instruments, or other audio equipment, or
just anything that needs good protection really.
Prices do not include shipping.
Here's a more in depth description of the mixer:
Yamaha's MG16XU is a compact mixer capable of sixteen simultaneous inputs that
is ideal for live performances, sound reinforcement, recording, rehearsal
rooms, studio recording or auxiliary mixer, online streaming of events with
multiple sound sources, podcasting, houses of worship, small venues and more.
It features eight mono mic/line combo input channels, two stereo line input
channels that can also be used as mono mic or line inputs (XLR and stereo 1/4"
inputs), and two stereo line inputs with 1/4" and RCA jacks. It also features
USB connectivity and is capable of providing two channels in and two channels
out to your computer or mobile device at up to 192kHz 24 bit, making this mixer
ideal for playing back or recording to your computer, or for use in online
streaming setups with broadcasting software.
The mixer can be mounted on a rack or used on a table top. It is a quality
mixer with a rugged chassis, so it can take a beating on the road. Nobs and
switches are actually mounted on the chassis, so the system feels solid and
will not break with pressure like other mixers. The unit is built like an
analog mixer, with sliders, knobs and push buttons for all functions, making
this unit great and easy to use.
Key features:
12 channel strips (8 mono, 2 mono or stereo, and 2 stereo)
10 Mic (XLR) Inputs (channels 1 through 8 are combijacks, meaning they have the
XLR and 1/4" connections on 1 plug. Channels 9 and 10 can be used with either
standard XLR connections, or as stereo 1/4" line inputs)
16 Line Inputs (channels 1 through 8 are mono sources, channels 9 through
12 are stereo sources, where each input (left and right) is considered a
separate input)
2 In, 2 Out, USB connectivity, supports up to 192kHz sample rate at 24 bit (Low
latency ASIO drivers are provided by Yamaha for use with professional DAW
software like Samplitude, Reaper, Audacity, Sound Forge etc. However, the
MG16XU is also class compliant, so its drivers can be used with default Windows
apps such as Skype, media player, Winamp, VLC, and streaming software like OBS
Studio, VMix, StreamLabs etc. The mixer is also compatible with Apple devices
including macs, iPads, iPhones etc.)
Built-In FX module with 24 Presets (includes reverbs, plates, delays,
distortion, flangers, wah, modulation and filters. No need to worry about
screens and such, there is a single knob to adjust basic preset parameter such
as room size delay feedback, distortion amount etc. FX unit is global)
balanced XLR and TRS 1/4" Stereo Outs
4 Group Buses & 4 Aux Sends (buses are linked as 2 stereo buses, but can be
split using the balance knob on each channel. Some AUX sends can be used as
post or pre fader for greater monitoring and/or signal routing abilities.
AUX send number 4 is also the FX unit send, but if you are not using the FX
unit, you can use the send as a regular AUX send, a dedicated 1/4" output is
provided)
"D-PRE" Mic Preamps with 48V Phantom power (phantom power is applied to all XLR
channels, no individual switches, pre-amps sound clean with low floor noise and
low distortion)
HPF (high pass filters) on channels 1 through 8 (removes noise below 80HZ from
incoming signal)
3-Band EQ (with sweepable mids) on Channels 1-8 (channels 9 through 12 have
high and low adjustments only)
1/4" Headphone Output with independent Level Control
Room Monitor function with independent volume control
PAD function on Channels 1 through 8 (reduces incoming signal to prevent
pre-gain clipping)
1-Knob Compressor on Channels 1-8 (great for vocals or acoustic instruments,
just turn the knob and the mixer automatically applies a smooth compression
curve to the channel)
