Hello: I'm assuming that you'd like for a different loop to play while your
chords change, such as a drum fill-in. If that's the case do the following: 1.
Make sure that you're in sonar and on a blank track, preferably track 1. 2.
Import a loop into sonar by pressing AltF followed by the letter M. 3. Press
enter for audio. 4. You will then be presented with the file name prompt. 5. at
this point, you can find the loop, or, loops that you want to incorporate into
your song. 6. Once you've found the first loop press enter on it and sonar will
import that loop into your track. 7. From here, you'd have to know how many
measures you'd for your main drum pattern to play. For example: Let's say that
you'd like for you first drum pattern to play for 8 measures. Do the following:
1. Hold the Alt key while pressing the enter key twice quickly to select the
entire loop track. 2. Press control C to copy your loop. 3. The copy dialog in
sonar will open up. Make sure that Jaws says that the event and clops
checkboxes are checked. 4. Press the tab key until you land on the ok button.
5. Press enter. 6. Assuming that your original drum pattern is
one measure long, press con trol V to paste. 7. Now, the paste dialog will open
up. 8. Press the tab key to where Jaws says starting time. 9. It will probably
say something like 101:00. 10. You want to change that first 1 to 2:01:00, so
that the loop can play
after the first bar. 11. Tab to where Jaws says repetition. 12. Type in 7, as
you'd like the loop to play 7 more times. 13. Press tab until you get to the ok
button and press enter. 14. Wait at least a minute or two so that sonar can
process what you've just done. 15. Now, to add a drum roll, press the #8 on the
number row to go to the eighth bar. This is where your next loop will come in.
16. Import another loop by following the steps above. 17. Make sure that this
loop for example is on track 2 as well. 18. If this new loop starts at the
beginning of your track, select it as previously described above, press control
X to cut it, and control V to paste it at bar 8. I hope this helped, let me
know ok?
