Correct. The column in the track view to select modalities will affect what
you input, not what is already there. Don't know how to help you with
changing to a particular modality.

Subject: [ddots-l] Re: changing key signature and pitch on MIDI tracks

I did see the transpose feature; however, the transposition looks pretty
boilerplate because transpositions appear to only occur in a major key,
(e.g. ascending C major, E flat, major, D major, E flat major, F major
etc) and it looks like transposition does not work for changing to other
key signatures or scales, like minor, Dorian, Frisian, Llidan,
Mixolidian keys etc.

I did noticed that while focusing on the track view there is a Colum
titled “scale” and under there it lists a bunch of modalities,
(minor, pentatonic, etc) but I still see that changing to these
modalities does not change pitch in the project. I even also enable the
snap to scale button and it still does not changes pitch.

I am interested in knowing if while working with sonar, if there is a
way to modify the pitch as it corresponds to a change in key signature
or scale for example, track is in C major and you want to listen how
that same track sounds in a minor, Frigian, Mixolidian mode etc.

I did also notice that I can make pitch changes in the event view, but
it looks pretty time consuming if I do it this way.

Any information that can help me with my inquiry is well appreciated,

Iván
