I was afraid you would say something like that. But a solution? As in a way to make Jaws speak the software?

Anyway it's good to cnow that Sonar, caketalking and Focusrite get along. I have to check that I can adjust atleast the basic things from the hardware. My nerwes could not take it, if I would need a sighted assistant for ewery little tweak.

The firewire connection also would be a nice upgrade, I think. Don't cnow yet if my computer has that option. Have to check. Not at all familiar with that tech, but I read that it's faster than USP.

Tommi. You are going to struggle to locate an interface that doesn't have a
software driven control panel. Most of them do now days. I am using the
Focusrite Saffire Liquid 56 which is a firewire interface and it has 8
inputs and a couple of ADAT ports so you can have up to 24 inputs at 44.1
and 48K and 20 inputs above 48K if you purchase some additional pre-amps
such as a couple of Focusrite MKII Dynamics. As for the Scarlet. I have
developed a solution for it however; need someone who is willing to test it
:-)

Subject: [ddots-l] Interfaces

Hellouu again, Tommi V here.

I find myself needing a better and larger interface. In the near future
I'll need atleast 8 inputs, or 10 would be even better.

The soundcard must not have alot to do with a wisual program. For
example I checked out the Focusrites scarlett 8I6, but found out that
the card's settings are manipulated from a software.

And ofcourse the interface must be compatible with sonar, caketalking
and jaws 12.

If someone could point in the right direction, I could continue my
research. This seems like a area where I could go so terribly wrong and
lose a lot money for nothing.

My thanks for al advice.
