Compression, EQ, and using the right samples, those are a start. As a hip
hop producer, i can tell you that it's little things that make a track make
it big...

Subject: [ddots-l] garbage pure garbage

hello everyone,

ok ok! I know I'm just beginning righy? well when I first got the
equipment, I first I had my mind set on real time recording. you guys
know, bands and solo artists. but once I started messing with all these
synths, I starteds trying to put together some of my own beats. and yes I
mix together a few synths and get some little tunes going. but when I go
to listen to my little seven or eight bars of whatever. all it soungs LIKE
IS GARBAGE PURE GARBAGE! I KNOW I KNOW PATIENCE IS A VIRTUEM BUT I AM
GETTING IRRITATED THAT NOTHING COMES OUT ANY GOOD. SURE MAYBE TO MY
FRIENDS AND FAMILY IT MIGHT SOUND NICE, BUT I KNOW IT IS JUST A SPECK
COMPARED TO THE REAL WORLD OF SOUNG PRODUCTION. WELL ANY POINTERS WILL HELP.
LET'S TAKE FOR INSTANCE WHEN PUTTING TOGETHER A HIP HOP BEAT THE POOM POOM
FROM THE DRUM NEEDS BASS TO IT BUT HOW DO I DO IT? WELL I'LL KEEP TRYING
. THANK YOU

MANNY
