Making guitar libraries is kind of overrated. You no longer just sample
instruments and drop them in a sampler. For instruments like guitars you
have complex instruments like realGuitar or any of the Real series from ML,
and stuff like Straberry and lap steel from OTS. These emulate the
instrument to a degree of realism using scripts and events that trigger at
random on the instrument. These are usually done with scripts (in the case
of a sampler library like Kontakt), or an entire plug-in is written up for
it like ML.

Subject: [ddots-l] help with making and selling my samples?

hi all, i think i have asked this before but any easy way to create guitar
samples? At one time i thought about making a library of acoustic samples
where i would sample every string at different volumes and try to put them
together in to some kind of usable preset for someone to play on a keyboard.
But then i thought wow thats a whole lot of work if i really dont know how
to put them together. So then i thought why not record just acoustic guitar
loops and try to sell them that way? Heck i can come up with hundreds of
different loops and thats not including open tuning playing as well. I have
a great sounding guitar, its a martain d28. Do you guys have anything to add
to this? I have 2 sm81 mics and another neumann as well. And i am running in
to a motu 8 pre. If i do this and it goes well, i may do an electric one
using my old 68 black face twin. What do you guys think?
Think i am just getting myself in to an over crowded market?
