Hi, another advantage of rx2 is that you can slice the loop in something
like recycle or rx2 player. If you do you can put the loop in splits, 1
slice per key. Then you can remix the loop how you like. Kind of like Stylus
RMX from Spectrasonics.

Hello Blake,

I have not experimented making loop samples but I have bought quite a few
from primeloops.com and loopmasters.com

I am partial to the drum and bass, dub step, and electronica genres, but you
can get samples that are for other genres and they are generally classified
into different instruments like drums, bases, leads, brass, piano etc)

I normally get two formats of loop samples because they are compatible with
Sonar; acidised Wave files and REX2.

The difference between acidised files and REX2 is that with acidised files
you can make pitch and tempo changes and for REX2 you can only change the
tempo.

In my experience as a consumer of loop samples, there is a market, but you
have to study your particular instrument and genre and its demand in the
market.

Cheers!

Ivan
