Hi fellow dancsters and dotsters,

I've owned a motif es8 for some time now and have, to this point, only used it to record audio tracks in sonar 6, using caketalking 6, latest versions of each. I decided I'd like to try setting up the midi interface and start using the instrument in midi recording. I need serious help in this endeavor, I'm afraid. So I come here!

I have a file called MotifESALL_10705.ins, which is supposed to be the instrument definition file for my keyboard. My first question is, where should I place this file so that sonar will find it?

My second question relates to the caketalking documentation from lesson 58G. It states the pressing alt-i, alt-f and alt-i will bring me to the right place from which to import my instrument definition. That doesn't happen. I just get a ding sound when I press the last alt-i. What am I doing wrong?

Any and all help in solving this dilemma is truly appreciated.

Rusty
