Hi Jim,

I had theElysis HD24 for about a year. The pluses were that it was very easy
to edit material for copy and paste. The scrubbing feature was really
excellent and easy to use. It was also very easy to transfer tracks to Sonar
with
MOTU interface. The downside was that any punch ins were destructible, in
other words, once you punch in, you'd better like what you got because the
original was gone. Also, as with any freestanding recorder, you had to set up
a mix on the console each time you set up a song. Once you got passed about
four markers, it was not very accessible to find markers without vision.

All in all, Sonar can do all of the functions of any freestanding recorder plus
a lot more. My vote still goes to sonar and cake Talking.
