OK, so you've got no method for checking the actual levels into the recorder
itself?

Hi Tim, I would set levels from the mixing desk. As I said in a previous
message, I now think that an hd recorder is an extravagance so I'll use my
old Tascam 4-track cassette for snap recordings.
