They also sold the Sonar 8.5 version as a download upgrade from Sonar 8.0.
In other words, if you have access to a full Sonar 8.5 install then the
serial number will work on that to.

Hi,
sonar 8 is a separate major version from 8.5, oddly enough. This means you
can patch up to I think 8.3, but not 8.5.3. If you want 8.5, you'll need to
buy it from dancing dots (assuming they still have some 8.5 producer's left)
and then get the patches for 8.5.
