Hello: I have found that the most reliable solution for this is to just stick some midi event in a couple of seconds after the song actually ends, or, when recording an audio track, just let it go a couple of seconds after. I don't know this for sure, but I bet that it only works in wavelab if you are using their native plug-ins. Incidentally, wavelab is really a good mastering program, in some ways superior to sound forge. It does have potential for accessibility too, though I never did figure out how to reliably select a portion of a file for editing.
