It could be dirty contacts, or a change in the control pannel software, or something more serious internally.

About a month ago I noticed that everytime I?d power up my saffire, the left channel on the headphone output would be softer then the right, and the audio passing through this channel from a media player, soft synth or any form of audio I?d send through the device wasn?t clean. By this I mean that it sounded almost as if their was a faulty connection within the device.
