[ddots-l] setting up melodic maps to work with step sequenser

Hello list,
I have gone through the Cake Talking steps to setting a melodic drum map in
order to work with the step sequencer and I am having no luck.
The one aspect that also does not make much sense is how can you assign a drum
map to the output track Colum if you also need to assign a soft synth and the
particular track output only gives you the option to select one of the two
(e.g. drum map or dimension soft synth).
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
