Hello HF,

There is a Plug-in that will analyze chords across one or more staves and 
generate the chord symbol. It's pretty darn good. If you set it to analyze 
only one staff you could get a chord symbol that defines the chord.

I use this when my arrangements are completed, so that guitarists and 
chord-reading pianists can have them to use.

What about telling you what chord it is. Not just saying chord but saying e
major 7 or something like that?
