For me, I'll have to turn off the moniters, then record the person, or me.
Then turn them back on, wich I don't think is bad, ay?
This will all be done in my room where my setup will be
Thoughts?

Brian,
I know they make such a thing which attaches to the wall, and folds out. This can be helpful, when no one is using it, it almost folds flat against the wall. I can't remember who the maker is, the price was around $300. I'll try to find out who it is if your interested. As far as building one, you can just have someone frame one up. Much like building a closet. Use 2-6's, or at least 2 by 4's, and cover them in laminated or "pressboard". Though its not as good as solid would would be, its cheaper, and don't transmit sound like solid wood... Cover both the inside and outside with carpet and your done! The cheaper and more portable option is to build a 5 by 5 foot frame out of PBC, and use moving blankets or the like to attach to the frame. It all depends on if you need quiet, or if you are just trying to cut out room sound, and of coarse, how much money you want to spend. Either way, its not like you'll be able to crank up your monitors. Unless you are putting the person far away from your setup, you will get some noise from your workstation and monitors.

            Hello folks,
I am looking to do the whole small project studio thing in my
home. I have a small one-room studio that I use and i am looking
to build a portable isolation booth. For those of you who are
doing this professionally as a business, give me some ideas as to
what you are doing for isolation for recording vocals and such... Thanks so much for your help,
    Brian
