Nothing wrong with that. That's what I do here, but I'm mostly recording
myself, or some of the horn players I use on my stuff. If you are getting a
lot of room sound though, you may want to consider deadening down the space.
That's what I had to do here.

I can't remember who the maker is, the price was around $300. I'll try to
find out who it is if your interested. As far as building one, you can just
have someone frame one up. Much like building a closet. Use 2-6's, or at
least 2 by 4's, and cover them in laminated or "pressboard". Though its not as
good as solid would would be, its cheaper, and don't transmit sound like solid
wood... Cover both the inside and outside with carpet and your done!
The cheaper and more portable option is to build a 5 by 5 foot frame out of
PBC, and use moving blankets or the like to attach to the frame.
It all depends on if you need quiet, or if you are just trying to cut out
room sound, and of coarse, how much money you want to spend.
Either way, its not like you'll be able to crank up your monitors. Unless
you are putting the person far away from your setup, you will get some noise
from your workstation and monitors.
