Hey Steph!
You don't have to go thru the boring process of setting up the metronome each
time you open Sonar...
Just do the following:
1). Open Sonar from your desktop.
2). Go in to options, press P and ctrl tab 'til you get to the metronome tab.
3). Set up the metronome exactly how you like it.
4). Save the project, but, entitle it quote exactly quote as below:
Normal.tpl

Now, everytime you open Sonar from the desktop, you will have a project with
the metronome just how you like it!

Also, you can do this for any plug-ins you prefer, like for instance, I always
have certain valve saturator plug-ins on track 1, and trax 2 to 4 always have
Guitar Rig and a good compressor already with my fave presets etc...

Obviously, it doesn't matter if you don't do the above, I mean, I dunno how you
like to work, but if you favour a particular synthesizer with a particular
sound, then whenever you click on Sonar, you'll be ready to do your thang!

Mike

  Mike, Luisa and Adrian:

Thanks for the help with metronome. I find that I have to do this with each
project separately, but at least I know how to solve the problem!

I'll need to upgrade eventually, I know ..
