John:
Do you have other usb devices connected to your computer. The 4x4 does draw quite a bit of power from the usb bus. You may need to use it with a powered usb hub.

Subject: [ddots-l] u s b midi device inconsistent

Hi: I'm using the midi sport 4 in 4 out midi interphase with sonar. I've been noticing lately that at times this u s b device doesn't load, in otherwords, I don't see it in the midi options and I need to restart the computer. Once it loads I don't have a problem. Should I reinstall the drivers or is it possible that the midi sport is giving out? The usb port on the computer is fine. Thanks John Fioravanti
