Hi,I've tried Vanguard, but wasn't impressed with it except for the trancegate presets. Most of the other sounds had a rough texture to them (that's really the only way I can describe it) and don't sound right with the trailing reverb. I hadn't heard of Sylenth1 until reading about it on this list, and have been playing with the demo for awhile. Compared to Vanguard, I think this one sounds amazing. As for Omnisphere, I've heard some of the demos for it, but am weary of purchasing it because there's no playable demo as far as I know. Whenever possible, I like to try before I buy. As for programming VST synths, how would you go about layering a sound, or even programming a brand new one? I've always used just the presets, but the idea of creating your own sounds has fascinated me.
