Hello peoples, for those of you who use z3ta+, or never bothered to use it
because of the bank change problem found with the track properties, here's a
possible way to fix it!
So, DJX, what are you talking about? What's the problem with z3ta+? I
haven't noticed anything wrong with the thing...
The problem is that if you use the track properties or bank/patch boxes to
try and switch z3ta+ to any of the addition 5 or 6 preset banks, the
instruments names change, however the instruments themselves do not,
instead, you still get the sounds from the first bank0, even though the name
itself changes. Basically you're missing out on like 5 banks of presets!
OK cool, more presets! So how do i fix it and get these babies?
The fix is Simple. Note that this worked for me on sonar8.5, i didn't have
this prob in sonar8.3, so not sure if it'll work for you, but i think it
will.
1. Open Sonar, if a project opens up, close it with ctrl+f4.
2. press alt+l, then M to launch the plug-in manager.
3. When the plug-in opens, in the categories section, go to VST Instruments.
4. Tab over to the registered plugins list and press z for z3ta+.
5. Press alt+p for the properties dialog.
6. When it opens, tab over till you find the box that says "Translate
Bank/patch changes" and check it. Press ok to close the dialog.
7. After a few seconds, use the mouse cursor for your screen reader, go to
the top of the screen, down arrow once or twice till you hear amongs other
things, the various categories in the plug-in window, such as directX audio
effects, VST Audio Effects, DirectX Instruments, VST Instruments etc.
8. Once you find one of these, find one of those words using left and right
arrows, and left-click on them once. The plug-in manager window should gain
focus again. Shit+Tab over to the close button and press enter.
9. Now open a new project, insert z3ta+, and check out the bank/patch in the
track properties!
10. Remember not to use an instrument track, use separate midi/audio tracks.

So there you have it, this worked for me, hope it works for you. Please
note, don't go doing this for everything on your system, some synths like
dimension pro and rapture don't have this bank/patch change capability, you
have to use their built-in program browsers. Also, for some synths that do
use bank/patch change, checking this box mmight actually make things worse
or cause no respond. You've been warned! LOL

Hope this helps some of you guys, I didn't have this problem with z3ta+ till
i upgraded to sonar8.5.2. It use to work fine in sonar 8.3.

HTH, D!J!X!
