[duxuser] Re: 10.4 DBT question about reference page detection

First of all, I am not sure about the values in the ANSI character
set, but the hard page code to which you refer is in the "ASCII"
character set. In the ASCII code set a hard page break is ASCII code
12.

When importing a file that has been produced an formatted within a
word processor, such as Word or WordPerfect, you can set DBT,
including version 10.4, to preserve hard page breaks and mark print
page breaks, in both the Word and WordPerfect file importers. You
will find both File importers under the "Global" menu. The shortcut
keystroke to open the "Global" menu is <ALT+G>.

When a file has been saved to ASCII/plain text format, generally there
is no way for DBT to determine where the page breaks occur in the file
unless all of the hard page break codes are saved along with all of
the end of line codes.

Hope this helps.

Sincerely:

Dave Durber
