Hello Nadine and listers,

I'm using the Alva Model 3 with Jaws 4.5 with Duxbury and the Index
Basic D Embosser from Sighted Electronics. Last month I had a hard drive
crash which necessitated my purchess of a brand new HP Pavillian Desktop
with Windows XP Home Edition and lots of other toys pre-installed. DBT and
my other Braille production hardware and software are working well under
this OS with Jaws. The crash just about killed me for this current
semester, but it looks like my Braille class will survive the carnage
intact. That ought to tell you how well things are working on the new
computer where Braille is concerned. I lost lots of school work, and e-mail
correspondence. As for some of it it was time for it to go, but luckily
enough was preserved to allow us to reconstruct events if necessary. Hope
this helps.

Peter Donahue who has learned the value of backing up files, and placing
them in multiple locations the hard way.
