If you use British Braille rules, do please read on. This
message may be important to you.

The Braille Authority of the United Kingdom (BAUK) have
published new rules for literary, math and computer braille,
with effect from last month (August). These are essentially
mandatory for braille producers. If you are an educational
user, please especially note that all school, college and
university examination papers produced in braille in the UK
will now use these new rules.

For details of the changes, please visit the BAUK web site
at http://www.bauk.org.uk. You will find links to their
Publications page, where there are both PDF and braille
files of many publications.

DBT 10.5 Service Release 2 is now available as has been
previously announced and includes new rule tables. And
sorry to repeat this, but it is specifically ONLY for fully
licensed users of Version 10.5.

If you have 10.5, and run DBT, you will find in the Help
menu, an item called "Check for Updates". Make sure you are
connected to the internet, select this item, and follow the
instructions.

If you have 10.4 or earlier, please contact us (or your
local dealer) for upgrade details and prices, but please
ensure you give your DBT Serial Number when you call.

If you are located in the UK, and have problems, or do not
have an internet connection on the system you wish to
upgrade, please feel free to telephone 01604 792 777 and ask
for Duxbury Support. We will help you as appropriate.
Again, please have your DBT serial number to hand.

Should you not be based in the U.K., and require help during
GMT (British) business hours, do please feel free to contact
us. We cannot guarantee full support, but we will do our
best to help you. Our telephone number from abroad is +44
1604 792777. However, if you have a local dealer, we would
request you call them first.

May we stress the importance of reviewing the following web
page, and especially the link on that page to, "important
information for British users".

This page provides you with important advice and
recommendations with regard to existing files which you may
wish to re-translate using the new rules.
