[duxuser] Re: Can I get replacement media for older DBT?

I had a similar situation, where I could read a floppy disk on one
machine but not another.

It turned out that the read/write head of the floppy disk drive in the
second machine had somehow gone out of alignment. So, obviously, when
I inserted the floppy disk, the read/write head could not find the
recorded tracks on the disk with the result that the operating system
reported that the disk was blank, even though I knew it was not.

Try the disk in the original machine to make sure that the disk is
still readable and you can read the names of the files on the disk.

If you can use Scan disk on the machine, than scan the disk to ensure
the integrity of the disk.

Hear is another suggestion. Format a disk in the machine that would
not read the Duxbury disk and then copy some files to it. Then try
reading the disk in the machine that could read the Duxbury disk.

On the other hand, if the second machine is set up to receive e-mail,
you could save yourself the time and bother by sending the files from
the first machine to the second machine as attachments to an e-mail to
yourself, then copy them to the disk that you had formatted on the
second machine and run the installation as normal.

I wish you luck.

Sincerely:

Dave Durber
