Hi Howard:

Caryn is our "doctor of JAWS script files". She will be at work in about an hour. In the meantime, I will try to give an answer.

Only with DBT 10.5 did Duxbury really work on JAWS script files. This work continued with DBT 10.6. DBT 10.6 came out just after JAWS 7, so the JAWS script files for DBT 10.6 support JAWS 7.

Since we anticipated that many people may want to use DBT 10.5 with JAWS 7, we have a mechanism to deliver this one piece of DBT 10.6 (i.e. the new JAWS script files) to DBT 10.5 users.

For those that are interested, run DBT 10.5 and use the "check for updates" in the DBT help menu. If you have installed DBT 10.5 SR2, you get a message about how to load the new JAWS script files.

Now Howard, none of this applies to you, since you have DBT 10.4. My recommendation is for a JAWS user to advance to DBT 10.5 or 10.6 to take advantage of Caryn Navy's considerable skill in writing JAWS script files.

I know this is not what you want to hear. If you contact JAWS users with DBT 10.5 or 10.6, you will find out how much work has been put into making all the pieces work together.

Might I say, that this is very, very much on topic. Duxbury Systems is committed to making DBT as easy to use as possible. But this has to be done by working as much as possible with our current software.

For the record, DBT 10.4 was first issued on May 9, 2002; DBT 10.5 was first issued on Aug 23, 2004; and DBT 10.6 is less than a month old.

Hi all,
My JAWS 5.10 is announcing line and column number on the Duxbury editor
screen each time I move the cursor. Quite annoying. Can anyone tell me how
to turn this off?

My system is: Windows XP Home, JAWS 5.10.383, Duxbury 10.4. When doing
Insert plus Q, JAWS announces that default settings are loaded, not DBT
settings.

Sorry this is just a bit off-topic, but I thought others might have the same
problem.

Thanks.
