Well I must admit although I learned Braille when I was 7 I also got my first low vision reading aid soon afterwards so I've been able to read most sizes of print ever since. However Braille comes in very useful for labelling things, so that I don't have to keep remembering to get my reading aid, I label videos, DVDs, files etc, so I can flick through them quickly. At the moment I have changed jobs for a year, am still working at RNIB but I am now in the Transcription Centre so am using DBT 10.5 frequently, I also do transcription onto DAISY CD. In fact today I am having an Advanced Duxbury training session all day. LOL Good to see you here. I envy those who grew up with braille, its a wonderful skill and I hope to continue building up my proficiency. This is one reason why I am leanring DBT as I plan to trancribe my recipes and at the same time, make use of DBT to benefit the lcoal ILC.
