I find random mistakes like this when a document has been scanned and I didn't
get all of the miscellaneous editing done enough. MAYBE that is what is going
on?

Hi all,
As you'll find out from my signiture below, I am a literary braille proofreader.
In the book I am proofreading now I encounter more than usuall dot errors.
For instance, instead of the letter 'i' it gets transcribed as 'f', 'p', etc.
There such errors in almost every line and sometimes two errors in the same
line.
Also unnecessary dots appear in spaces they do not belong.
Does this mean the transcriber's embosser is in need of servicing?
Or could it be another issue?
You might also like to know that I am the admin of a facebook group called
"braille proofreaders and transcribers".
My purpose in starting such a group was to establish a venue for communication
among proofreaders and transcribers in order to facilitate the exchange of
ideas and knowledge on these two professions.
