As promised..... Subject: Hint for word users This hint came to me from a colleague who does Braille translation and is very helpful in pre-preparation of forms with fill in the blanks. If you replace all the repeated characters with a shorter one such as (space provided) the forms are much more readable for the user. WORD SEARCH AND REPLACE HINT[- OR _] To change any number of underscores to a single double dash OR (Hyphens) in Word, do the following: Ctrl H to start Find and Replace Click More (Alt M) to expand the dialog box Check Use wildcards (Alt U) Find what: _{1,} [you are looking for 1 or more underscores] Replace with: or space provided (include spaces) Click Replace all (Alt A) For example, This is _ a test. This is __ a test. This is ___ a test. This is ____ a test. The above can be removed and replaced with a single - or any word phrase you choose. Thank you!
