I strongly recommend you use the BANA template in conjunction with SWIFT,
which is available from the Duxbury website. SWIFT is especially helpful for
attaching the template, as well as letting you easily select the type of
translation you want (EBAE, UEB, Nemeth with EBAE, Nemeth with UEB).
I developed the BANA template to use with Microsoft Word for many reasons.
There are literally dozens of features that enhance the use of the template.
Take advantage of that power whenever you can.

However, I still am 'self taught' , and mostly learn by trial and error
which is very time consuming (and at times frustrating)

If you open a Word document containing a table in DBT, or even create a
table, within DBT before you translate, you can click anywhere inside the
Table and select Table: Properties. Where you can change how the table will
be formatted in braille.
For example, you might have a table which has few columns, but a lot of text
in each column. Sometimes this is best in Stairstep format.
It's sometime helpful to see what each looks like, since quite often tables
are the same layout in print.

Greetings all,
Do not know if this has been posted in the forum. I have only been
transcribing for a couple years and am still working on my certification,
and I am self taught in the Duxbury 11.3.
However, I am continually make a lot of my discoveries 'by mistake' (Kinda
of like a scientist) of the powerful tools in the new BANA template.
The most recent discovery is that when I create a table in Word, using the
provided BANA template from Duxbury, and then open it in Duxbury and hit
Ctrl+T for translate, it formats the table as needed!!
Either in columnar format with guide dots and everything:)
Or I had one the other day that was to wide and Duxbury automatically put it
in List format:)
I love me electronics.
