Carmela, I made 1 error (at least) in my previous message: to view codes, press Alt-F3. The Ctrl-m should put in codes that look to a sighted user like [p] in red. (I don't know what you get if using a screen reader.) In any case, the procedure I described worked for me in a test case. I was typing into DBT, not pasting an .rtf file, but I had the same problem you did before I put in the paragraph codes. If you can check that the [p] was inserted, you should.
